WhatsApp now offers a feature to make your texts bold. You can make any text bold in your chat when you want to highlight something.
You can add an asterisk (*) before and after the text that you want to make bold.
For example, in the above screenshot, I wanted to highlight the word Hi, so I wrote *Hi* and you can see that the text is now bold. You can then tap to send it.
Now if you want to write in italic text you can do that easily. Just like bold, italic is also useful when something is being emphasized.
WhatsApp also supports Monospace font which you can check by long-tapping on any text in your chat box. However, there is no in-built setting in WhatsApp to change the font for all chats. So you’ll need to change it individually for each text.
If you want to change the font, you can either tap and hold on the text and then swipe right from the options to choose monospace otherwise put the text in between three backticks (“`).
The effect of striking out text represents correction or iteration in a sentence or any text. You can also add a strike through your text by simply tapping and choosing the option.
Apart from changing the styles, you can also change the default font size of WhatsApp if it’s too small or too large for you. Unlike other apps, WhatsApp depends on device fonts only and offers a built-in setting to change the font size.
To change WhatsApp font size, follow the steps below:
Open WhatsApp and tap the three-dot icon at the top right corner and select Settings.6. Bonus Tip: Stylish & Colourful Texts
Android devices can use this bonus tip which lets is them change the text color and style. Well, WhatsApp doesn’t officially offer this functionality and you need to download a third-party app called BlueWords for this.
Download the app on your phone and open it. Now, select the text that you want to use and then enter the text whose color you want to change in the given box that says Write here.
Moreover, you can also use the above-mentioned app to change the font styles. The app offers many stylish fonts. All you need to do is just select the font type, enter your text, and then copy-paste it into WhatsApp.
Furthermore, you can also use the same app to change the font style in WhatsApp status as well. For that, you will need to copy-paste the text from the app directly to your WhatsApp Status.
WhatsApp has recently released an update for WhatsApp desktop app users which brings a new context menu. This menu now has bold, italic, and strikethrough shortcuts apart from the previous cut, copy, and paste options. But first, you should download the WhatsApp beta from Microsoft Store as this update is available on the Beta version as of now.
1. Open the WhatsApp desktop beta app.
2. Now go to the chat in which you want to send stylish fonts.
3. Type something and then select it.
5. Select one and your text will be converted to that.
That’s it. You can now send the WhatsApp stylish fonts to anyone from desktop.

One of the features that debuted with iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 that hasn’t received much attention is the ability to use custom fonts on iPhone and iPad. The feature has had a bit of a complicated rollout, so follow along for how to get going with custom fonts on iOS and iPadOS.
Apps have existed for quite some time that offer a workaround to bring custom fonts to iOS and specific apps. But with iOS 13, Apple officially started supporting font installation and management on iPhone and iPad, and it works system-wide (somewhat limited).
Below, we’ll cover several options to download, install, and use fonts in iOS 13. However, at the time of writing, using custom fonts in iOS and iPadOS is only supported in Pages, Keynote, Mail, and limited third-party apps.
This means you can’t use any font in any app you’d like (Messages, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.) You can download third-party keyboards and/or apps for those specific apps to use custom fonts, but those are different from the ability to use system-wide compatible fonts in iOS 13. Even though this support is limited for now, compatibility will increase over time.
Update: Fontcase is a neat new open source custom font app that uses the method of installing fonts via a configuration profile that offers more flexibility than the official font installation with apps like Adobe Creative Cloud. Since the free Fontcase app is open source (view full code on GitHub), users can feel confident there are no privacy or security issues at play. How to use custom fonts on iPhone and iPad
Let’s take a look at three options…
If you don’t have it already, download the Adobe Creative Cloud app for iOS/iPadOS
You’ll need to create an account, but can use limited free fonts without a paid requires a subscription
Tap the Fonts tab in the bottom bar
Tap Install Fonts under one that you like, tap Install again
Now open a custom font compatible app like Pages, Keynote, or Mail
Type new text or select existing text, head to the editor, look for your new custom fonts
Font Diner was one of the first free apps to officially work with custom system-wide fonts in iOS 13 without a workaround
After downloading it, open it and tap Activate in the top right corner (gray button)
Tap Agree, then Install
Now open a custom font compatible app like Pages, Keynote, or Mail
Type new text or select existing text, head to the editor, look for your new custom fonts
Here’s how these steps look:
Here’s what it looks like to use the new fonts in Pages:
There are apps that have been around for some time that allow loading of custom fonts, including from your own collection from iCloud Drive and Dropbox to work with iPhone and iPad.
One thing to keep in mind here: You’re taking a risk in trusting the developers of these apps and creators of the fonts as they work via an unsigned profile that needs to be installed. However, there are some benefits even though the process is clunkier.
Fontcase solves the security and privacy problem by being an open source app. Learn more about how to install custom fonts with it on iPhone and iPad here.
You can use the fonts installed with this method in more apps than just those allowed with the official iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 feature, as well as install apps from iCloud Drive, Dropbox, and more.
Choose an app like AnyFont or iFont (using the iFont for this example)
Tap Get Fonts in the bottom right corner
Choose a font provider from the list
Pick a font and tap load it into iFont
Once it’s in iFont, tap Install next to it
Choose Install in the top right corner
Enter your passcode if required
Tap Install again
Open a compatible app and you should see the new font
Here’s how the slightly complicated process looks 😅:
The first step is to choose Get Fonts in the bottom right corner of iFont, then pick a font provider. I’m using Fontspace in the steps below.
Install the font via the profile at your own risk.
Now that you’ve got it installed, open an app and look for your new font.
One of the benefits of using this method is being able to use fonts in more apps.
And here’s how it looks to import your own fonts or fonts you have saved in iCloud or Dropbox.Read more 9to5Mac tutorials:

Contrary to popular belief that Chromebook is a glorified browser, Google’s lightweight desktop OS brings a lot more to the table. You can now run Android apps, Linux apps on Chromebook, and even lightweight Windows 10 apps on Chromebooks. Chrome OS is also set to get Android 11 support in the next few months. Among Android apps, WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps, and users want to use it on their Chromebooks. So we have compiled a quick guide to install and use WhatsApp on a Chromebook. And without further ado, let’s jump to the steps.Install and Use WhatsApp on a Chromebook (2024)
Before we begin, keep in mind that you need a Chromebook that comes with Android app support. So to get a detailed idea about the steps, let’s dive in.How to Install WhatsApp Android App on Chromebook
3. Once you have installed the app, open it and follow the on-screen instructions. Now, select your country and enter your phone number. After that, enter the verification OTP (one-time password) you receive on your number.

5. Voila, that’s it. You can now use WhatsApp on your Chromebook, and it’s the same as the smartphone app that you already use on the daily. You get access to all the popular features, including WhatsApp Status, WhatsApp disappearing messages, and a lot more.

Discord is an extremely popular platform that many gamers use to communicate with other players while roaming distant lands and taking on fierce enemies or battling monsters. There are thousands of channels that you can join, but no matter which one wins your favor, there is usually no shortage of snark or sarcasm. It’s not always mean spirited, as most gamers just want to blow off steam while having fun with friends. But the tone of voice is often lost in all the typing. That’s when strikethrough can be the only way to get your message across. This quick tip shows how to strikethrough text on Discord.
Good to know: when taking a break, you can even add some music bots to rally the troops. How to Strikethrough Text in Discord Chats
In traditional typographical presentations, the strikethrough means that there’s a correction or deleted information. However, when used in the context of Discord and other chat apps, it indicates a deliberate change of thought that would have otherwise been seen as a Freudian slip.
To inject some humor into your Discord posts, you can add a strikethrough to any word. The actions can be somewhat laborious, especially if you need to get your message across quickly.
Log in to your Discord account.
Go to the channel where you would like to chat.
Type your message as usual. Add two tildes (~) before and after a word when you want to strikethrough it.
Tip: learn how to change your status on Discord and let everyone know what you’re doing.
The word will appear with a strikethrough preview.
Hit Enter when you want to send the message, and you’ll see that the word has a proper strikethrough.
Use either method described in the steps above to add a strikethrough over your text.
FYI: not happy with your original Discord username or nickname? Learn how to change it.
On the mobile apps, you can strikethrough a word/phrase in similar fashion. Once you are in the text block, tap on “~” twice before and after the word you want to strikethrough. You won’t see a preview like you would in the desktop version, but when you post the message, it appears correctly.
To edit a message on mobile, long-press on it, then select “Edit” from the pop-up menu that appears from the bottom.
There are several text styles in Discord, each with its own shortcut. However, those aren’t the only ones. There are Discord shortcuts for everything from scrolling up the list of servers to toggling the GIF picker.

Does your neck hurt? Perhaps you slept funny. Or perhaps it was those three consecutive hours you spent hunched over a tiny screen watching silly little videos. We’re not judging. We’re not even going to tell you to “go outside” or to “drink a glass of water.” But, to save you some pain and physiotherapy, may we suggest: TikTok on desktop.
TikTok is best known as a mobile app, but the platform’s desktop version includes many of the same features on a larger screen (and significantly less neck pain).
Here’s everything you need to know about TikTok on desktop.
Bonus: Get a free TikTok Growth Checklist from famous TikTok creator Tiffy Chen that shows you how to gain 1.6 million followers with only 3 studio lights and iMovie. Can you use TikTok on desktop?
The short answer is: yes, you can use TikTok on desktop.
TikTok’s desktop version works similarly to the mobile version, but because desktops have more real estate to work with, you can see more of TikTok’s features via a single screen.
From chúng tôi desktop users have access to all of the same features (EXCEPT the ability to record a TikTok directly within the site). The desktop version replaces that “Record” button with an “Upload” button—that’s the cloud-like icon in the top right of the screengrab above.
TikTok for desktop’s left menu also suggests accounts for you to follow, shows accounts you already follow, and displays trending hashtags and sounds.
Also notable is the “Messages” tab—on mobile, all notifications and direct messages are accessed through the Inbox, but on desktop, DMs are separated into ther own tab.How to download TikTok videos on a PC or Mac
As of May 2023, you can’t directly download videos from TikTok’s desktop site to your PC or Mac. One simple workaround is to download the video on your mobile device and then email it to yourself.
To download a TikTok on your mobile device, just go to the TikTok you’d like to download, hit the “Share” arrow on the bottom right side of your screen, then hit Save Video. Once you have the video saved, you can attach it to an email from your camera roll.
The above is the guaranteed safest way to download a TikTok, but if you don’t have access to a mobile device, another method you can use is to download the video using a third-party website or app. Here are a few resources for doing so:
Qoob Clips is a downloadable app, and the starter service is free and works for both Mac and PCs. Once you have the app, you can download TikToks by plugging in the username of the account who’s video you’d like to download. Qoob will automatically download all of the videos from that account, so be sure to select a timeframe before you start your download (unless you’re wanting thousands of TikToks to eat up your computer’s memory space). How to upload and post a video to TikTok on desktop
Downloading TikToks to your desktop may be a bit complicated, but uploading is a breeze.
From there, you can select your video from your computer or drag and drop a file to upload. Then, add your caption, hashtags, privacy settings, all that good stuff.
Once you’re ready, simply hit the Post button below the editor, and your video will be published to your account.
