How to enter Asgard in AC Valhalla

So you have collected all the Thistle plants for Valka’s potion and returned to her for the Elixir. Here’s where things get interesting. You’re transported to Valhalla as Eivor has a surreal, out-of-body experience.

In the cutscene that ensues, you find yourself as Havi (Odin) seated on a throne, talking to 3 seers. Hear what they have to say and pick which voice prompt you think would suit Odin best. This will bring an end to the cutscene and start the new quest “View Above All”.

We suggest you synchronize right away, after which you can perform a leap of faith to quickly reach the Great Hall. Approach the gathering in the middle of the place. This will trigger another cutscene where you’ll join Thor, Freyja, and Tyr to discuss battle plans for what’s to come next.

You’ll then be prompted to pick a companion to accompany you into the battle. Out of the 3 options (and this is a no-brainer), you will want to pick Thor (God of thunder guys, cmon!). Accompanied by Odin’s best warriors, take the charge now and lead them into battle against the frost giants right through the Bifrost!

Tasked with having to close the gate to Jotunheim, you’ll have to clear a few waves of Jotunheim giants while you make your way towards the gate. Our suggestion: choose your fight carefully and don’t rush to close the door. Work with your warriors, and you’ll soon be done with them.

Walk up to the door and press the command prompt to close it. This will trigger a final cutscene here for you to talk with Loki and The Builder. After you’ve finished talking to them, you’ll be done with the initial part of traversing Asgard for the storyline.

How to leave Asgard in AC Valhalla

To exit from Asgard you’ll have to reach the well of ‘Urdr’. This is your way out of Asgard so here’s what you have to do. You don’t need to travel to any other part. Simply open up your map, select yourself on it (you’ll be near Heimdall’s portal on the top left), and wake yourself up.

This will bring a close to your time in Asgard as you’ll wake back up in Ravensthorpe-at Valka’s. You’ll notice that there’s a potion lying right next to you. That is the same potion that you took a while ago for your journey to Asgard. Remember this spot, as you can travel back here and drink that potion again to enter Asgard and explore further.

Alternatively, you might be experiencing harassment or bullying and feel like you need to leave the server in order to protect yourself. Your online safety should always be your number one priority.

In this circumstance, it’s best to report the behavior to the server administration team for them to handle the situation, but leaving the server and removing yourself from the option is also an option.

Comcast Set To Enter Copyright Wars

WASHINGTON — For all the uncertainties about what the combined company would look like if Comcast and NBC Universal are permitted to join forces, one thing is clear: Comcast will be a much more active participant in the debate over how to deal with pirated content on the Internet.

Comcast CEO Brian Roberts this morning hinted that the nation’s leading cable ISP could take a more active role in fighting against illegal content passing over peer-to-peer networks.

“The whole question of piracy, we are now going to be on both sides of that issue,” Roberts said in an on-stage interview here at the State of the Net conference, an annual tech policy event hosted by the Congressional Internet Caucus.

With the deal in the midst of an antitrust review at the Justice Department, Roberts was guarded in his remarks concerning his plans for revamping NBC once the transaction wins the blessing of the government.

Asked about using filtering technology to block or slow content on Comcast’s network, Roberts was quick to distinguish between legal and illegal content. Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA‏), of course, landed in hot water with the Federal Communications Commission in 2008 for slowing transmissions of lawful peer-to-peer BitTorrent traffic.

“We slowed down. We did not block,” Roberts said. “We realized that that was not the right solution.”

Comcast has since modified its network-management policy to avoid being castigated for singling out a specific type of traffic to slow. But that dust-up was a bandwidth issue, not a copyright matter.

With the company poised to team with NBC Universal, whose premium television content and movies are ripe targets for piracy, Comcast will take on an enormous incentive to get tough on the matter. Comcast has its own television properties, such as the Golf Channel and E, but Roberts this morning said that the cable business still accounts for 95 percent of the company’s revenue.

Those concerns became all the more urgent when the Recording Industry Association of America announced in December 2007 that it was abandoning its policy of suing infringers in favor or partnering with ISPs to monitor for pirated content passing over their networks and send warning letters to consumers. Major ISPs have denied cooperating with the RIAA in its “graduated response” program, which would threaten to cut off repeat infringers’ Internet service.

Groups such as Public Knowledge have warned against false positives, arguing that even the best filtering technologies could mistakenly label legal traffic as pirated content, and block the transmission or worse. That would cast ISPs in the role of copyright cops, and set in motion a wholesale system of filtering that is anathema to both

“Honest answer is I don’t know,” he said. “We don’t anticipate saying we have to change … what they’re now doing.”

But he added that most of Hulu’s television programming is network content that airs for free. Premium content is s different story. Comcast has been aggressively signing up partners for Fancast, its online streaming program through which cable subscribers can watch premium content from partners such as HBO over the Internet.

Roberts assured the audience today that Comcast has no intention of adopting any such discriminatory practices. He’ll have a chance to reprise his performance next week, when he’s slated to testify at one of four congressional hearings that have been scheduled to probe the merger.

Starting A Cbd Business: How To Enter The Cbd Industry

Still relatively new to the mainstream, cannabidiol, more commonly known as CBD, is becoming a household name. The purported therapeutic and health benefits of CBD, one of many compounds found in cannabis and hemp plants, has created a buzz. CBD oil has entered the marketplace in the form of tinctures, infused edibles, topicals and more. The growth of CBD oil products has been so immense, in fact, that industry analyst BDS Analytics predicts the U.S. CBD market will reach $20 billion in sales by 2024.

The potential of the CBD industry has prompted many people to explore how they can launch a CBD business. The industry is not without its challenges, though, especially surrounding the evolving legal landscape, but the opportunity is significant.

If you’re considering getting involved in the CBD industry, you first need to understand more about cannabinoids and the products that utilize them.

What is CBD?

CBD is one of more than 100 cannabinoids, which are compounds found throughout the cannabis and hemp plants. The most famous cannabinoid is undoubtedly tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is responsible for the intoxication associated with the consumption of cannabis. CBD, however, does not produce an intoxicating effect; instead, it offers potential therapeutic and health benefits, though research into its potential medical applications is ongoing.

CBD products are generally created in several steps. First, the raw material needs to be cultivated and harvested. For example, if you plan on using industrial hemp to create your CBD products, you will either need to cultivate or purchase a large amount of the plant. From there, CBD oil is extracted from the plant using a variety of methods. Again, you can do this yourself or outsource the process to an extraction company. Once you have extracted the CBD oil, it can be sold as a concentrate or used to infuse a variety of products. Some of the most common CBD products on the market today include sublingual tinctures, infused edibles and topicals, like gels or creams.

Hemp CBD vs. cannabis CBD

CBD is found in both cannabis and hemp plants. CBD oil can be extracted from either plant and used to create CBD oil products. However, there is a key difference between hemp CBD oil and CBD products derived from cannabis: THC.

Industrial hemp contains less than 0.3% THC, and as such, it is considered legal under federal law to cultivate, harvest and process into finished products. Cannabis, on the other hand, contains more than 0.3% THC (often much higher levels) and remains federally illegal.

Hemp and cannabis are closely related; in fact, industrial hemp is actually Cannabis sativa L. The difference in name is mostly a function of a legal definition, which sets the threshold for THC content. The flowers of a hemp plant contain little to no THC, while the flowers of a cannabis plant (commonly referred to as marijuana) contain much higher levels of THC.

The federal government considers marijuana a Schedule I drug under the Controlled Substances Act, making it illegal for interstate commerce, even as dozens of states legalize it for adult use. Industrial hemp, on the other hand, was recently removed from the Controlled Substances Act altogether, opening the way for its cultivation and harvest in the U.S. for the first time since 1937.

Did You Know?

The key difference between hemp CBD oil and CBD products derived from cannabis is THC.

Key challenges facing CBD businesses

The CBD and cannabis industry faces unique challenges that other industries don’t. Most of these challenges relate to the regulatory environment and, as federal agencies like the FDA detail specific rules and guidelines, things should stabilize. For now, though, if you want to start a CBD business, you should be aware of these major considerations:

Banking: Access to reliable banking services can be complicated due to the fluctuating regulatory landscape. Many banks are hesitant to do business with CBD and cannabis companies, fearing significant risk or burdensome oversight. Frequently, CBD businesses are forced to switch banks or experience the abrupt closure of a merchant account, which can seriously disrupt operations.

Insurance: Finding affordable insurance for a CBD business is another major challenge. Prices remain elevated despite the legalization of industrial hemp, Slovik said, as the industry takes time to catch up to the developments. Education remains a key obstacle.

Payment processing: Similarly, payment processors present high fees and other challenges to CBD businesses. Slovik said Visa recently cut off all CBD businesses, leaving him capable of only accepting MasterCard and Discover for payments.

Access to capital: Banks and other lenders are reluctant to fund CBD companies, viewing the industry as too risky without clear regulatory requirements. So far, the CBD industry has relied on bootstrapping, outside investors or alternative lenders to find the growth capital it needs.

Each of these challenges will likely be cleared up as more concrete regulation appears, but in the meantime, CBD businesses must remain adaptable and well-informed. Changes in the industry come on a day-to-day basis, so preparing backup plans ahead of time could save you a great deal of time and money should the worst come to pass.

CBD is a huge business opportunity, if it’s approached correctly

The growth opportunity in the CBD industry is unparalleled. The cannabis industry is one of the fastest growing in the nation, and CBD is one of the quickest growing sectors of that industry. Especially following the passage of the 2023 Farm Bill, hemp CBD products are proliferating at a fast rate. If you want to start a CBD business, you’re not alone.

“This industry has been more or less illegal for the past century,” said Slovik. “At this point, there’s major, major momentum. Many people are trying to break in, so don’t follow the herd. You want to be a leader.”

A combination of due diligence and creativity will set your business up for success in the CBD industry. Now is the time to get in on the ground floor and build a company that will last, but differentiate yourself with a quality product that stands out from the crowd.

Maternity Leave Requirements For Employers

When a business has a paid maternity leave policy, fewer employees leave the company after giving birth.

Some states require paid maternity leave while federal law requires 12 weeks of unpaid leave for employers with 50 or more employees.

When creating your maternity leave policy, be specific about eligibility, determine if you’ll offer paid leave and ensure you comply with state and federal laws.

This article is for small business owners who want to learn about maternity leave and create a parental leave policy.

If you don’t offer your employees some form of maternity or parental leave, it could cost you in the long run. While many businesses consider maternity leave an added expense, paid maternity leave policies can benefit your company by reducing attrition and boosting productivity and company loyalty.

To avoid losing quality employees, you must understand maternity leave, your responsibilities as an employer and how to develop a fair and comprehensive maternity leave policy.

Did You Know?

Research from the Institute for Women’s Policy Research shows that employers with paid maternity leave policies are more likely to save money through better employee retention rates and higher company morale.

The FMLA also governs aspects of sick leave laws your business should understand. Under the FMLA, eligible employees can receive up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave.

What laws apply to maternity leave?

Federal and state laws apply to maternity leave. Here are three laws you should understand.

Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978

The Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978 is a federal law that protects pregnant employees from discrimination based on pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions. Under this act:

Employers cannot refuse to hire employees based on pregnancy or pregnancy-related conditions.

Employers cannot require pregnant employees to undergo procedures to determine their ability to perform specific job duties unless the same procedures apply to all employees.

If a pregnant employee has trouble performing their duties, the employer must offer reasonable accommodations as they would for any other temporarily disabled employee.

Employers may not prohibit pregnant employees from working or prevent them from returning to work after giving birth.

Employee health insurance plans must treat pregnancy-related conditions the same as other conditions.

Employers cannot require pregnant employees to pay higher insurance deductibles than non-pregnant employees.

Did You Know?

Pregnancy-related questions are among the illegal job interview questions businesses must avoid at all costs.

Family and Medical Leave Act

The FMLA provides all new parents, including fathers and adoptive parents, with 12 weeks of unpaid leave. The FMLA differs from a business’ maternity leave policy, which is typically six to eight weeks and can be paid or unpaid. However, the six to eight weeks of maternity leave is part of the 12 weeks from the FMLA ― in other words, an employee cannot take six weeks of maternity leave and then start their 12 weeks of FMLA.

The FMLA applies to employees of any company with 50 or more employees who have been employed there for at least a year. Under the FMLA, businesses are required to:

Provide 12 weeks of unpaid leave to care for a newborn or adopted child.

Continue the employee’s health insurance coverage.

Allow the employee to return to the same job or a job with an equivalent salary and benefits.

State laws

Currently, 12 states and Washington, D.C., have Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) programs. These states offer coverage of a portion of an employee’s salary during their time off, ranging anywhere from 50 percent to 100 percent:

New Hampshire

New Jersey

New York

Rhode Island

Washington, D.C.

Much like the FMLA, these states require employers to give employees time off for parental and medical leave. However, unlike the FMLA, they require this leave to be paid time off. PFML programs have eligibility requirements, such as working a specific number of hours and each state has its own contribution rates and distribution amounts.

Employers in states with PFML programs must contribute or withhold money from their employees’ wages to allow for paid maternity leave.

Paid family and medical leave laws are among the surprising laws that may apply to your small business, depending on your state. Others include mandated workers’ compensation insurance and specific sexual harassment laws.

Other ways to build an inclusive workplace culture include creating inclusive spaces, avoiding gendered terms and giving employees multiple ways to provide feedback.

3. Invite feedback about parental leave from multiple sources.

When creating your parental leave policy, gather input and feedback from various sources, including your HR team, legal representatives and employees who are expecting or have children. Use employee surveys to ask your staff what aspects of a parental leave policy would benefit and help them most, what areas they need support in and what you can do to make the policy the best it can be.

4. Determine who is eligible for parental leave.

Your policy must be clear and specific on who is eligible for parental leave. You can use the FMLA as a guide. Under the FMLA, employees must have worked for their organization for at least 12 months or 1,250 hours to qualify for 12 weeks of leave. You can adjust the eligibility requirements as you see fit and incorporate state guidelines.

5. Clarify the different types of parental leave you offer.

There are three forms of parental leave you can offer:

Intermittent: Intermittent leave covers one-time events like doctor appointments and minor emergencies.

Reduced schedule: You can reduce an employee’s schedule or workload if their normal workload becomes too much.

Block of time: This is an extended period of time off typically granted after the employee has given birth or if there are health complications preceding the birth that require the employee to take time off.

6. Determine if you will offer paid parental leave.

The FMLA does not require employers to offer paid leave. However, creating a paid leave policy can help you retain valuable employees. Paid leave is a significant benefit many job seekers value highly.

There are a few ways you can offer paid leave:

Employer-paid leave: This option, where you pay the employee’s entire salary while they’re out on leave, is costly, but it’s very valuable to the employee. To save money, you could consider offering a portion of the employee’s pay while they are away from work.

Disability leave: You can include disability leave as part of your insurance plan, so your employees’ paid leave doesn’t come directly out of your pocket.

Vacation and sick leave: Some employers allow employees to use their paid time off for parental leave. However, this can also be a costly option.

Parental leave is good for business

For new parents, maternity and parental leave is a critical part of bonding with a child and recovering from birth. For businesses, this leave plays a huge role in retaining high-quality employees and improving employee satisfaction. Your parental leave policy will, of course, be tailored to your unique business needs as well as the laws covering your state. But at the end of the day, the facts don’t lie: Parental leave is good for your bottom line.

How To Enter No Substrate Mode On The Ios 10 Jailbreak

Now that yalu102 has been out a while, along with its unstable predecessor for iOS 10.0-10.1.1, many of our readers will no doubt be running one of these two jailbreaks. As is always the case with a jailbreak on a new iOS version, many tweaks are not yet updated, and some can cause crashes or even bootloops.

It is consequently useful to be able to get into No Substrate Mode, to be able to escape tweak-related crashes and remove offending tweaks. The process has changed slightly since the days of the untethered jailbreak due to the fact that current semi-untethered tools do not boot into a jailbroken state. In this guide, we’ll show you how No Substrate Mode is accessed on the Yalu jailbreaks.

What is No Substrate Mode?

Firstly, to clear up any confusion, let’s go over what No Substrate Mode is. It’s a mode which is cleverly built into Cydia’s functionality allowing you to enter a jailbroken state, but without Cydia Substrate running.

At first sight, it may look like an unjailbroken state, because most tweaks rely on Substrate to run, and with it disabled they will have no effect. Modifications to the status bar, icons, badges, etc, will all disappear as if the phone was back to stock. However, the phone is in fact in a jailbroken state, and Cydia can be opened and used. This allows you to use Cydia to remove tweaks which are causing your device problems, which you could not remove with Substrate enabled due to the tweak crashing your phone constantly. It is therefore a powerful safeguarding and troubleshooting mechanism for your jailbreak.

No Substrate Mode is not to be confused with Safe Mode, which is a different state. You may have encountered Safe Mode before, if a tweak crashes your Springboard. The phone will respring, and your wallpaper will be black. A dialogue will appear informing you that you are in Safe Mode, and offering to restart back into normal mode. It will also say Exit Safe Mode in the status bar of your device. In Safe Mode, Substrate is running, but all tweaks are disabled. Safe Mode is not normally entered on purpose, but happens automatically when Springboard crashes. By contrast, booting to No Substrate Mode is deliberate, and disables Substrate entirely.

Entering No Substrate Mode on jailbroken iOS 10

1) If you are already in a jailbroken state, reboot your phone to an unjailbroken state.

2) Launch the Yalu jailbreak application, and locate the Go button.

3) Press the Go button to begin the jailbreak process, and then immediately hold down the Volume Up and Power buttons.

This combination is the same for all devices. On some devices the Power button – also known as the Sleep/Wake or Lock button – is on the top of the device, on others it is on the opposite side to the Volume buttons.

4) Keep holding down Volume Up and Power/Lock buttons throughout the Yalu app’s jailbreaking process, and whilst the phone resprings.

5) Once the device is back to the lock screen, release the buttons and unlock the device.

6) Check that the phone has not rebooted to an unjailbroken state by trying to open Cydia. If Cydia opens, you are in a jailbroken state.

7) Check that the phone is in No Substrate Mode and not normal jailbroken mode by looking for the effects of any of your tweaks. I normally check my status bar to see if my carrier name is gone and my wifi bars have become dots, because these are two instantly visible tweaks I have. You can check for whatever tweaks you like.

If Cydia opens and your tweaks are working, you are not in No Substrate Mode, you are in normal jailbreak mode.

If Cydia does not open, you are in an unjailbroken state.

If Cydia opens and your tweaks have no effect, you are in No Substrate Mode.

8) Use No Substrate Mode as you please, to remove conflicting or incompatible tweaks.

9) Once you are done, exit No Substrate Mode by simply rebooting your phone. You will have to re-jailbreak with the Yalu app after the reboot.

No Substrate Mode can save you from all kinds of sticky situations. In fact, there are very few problems which it cannot help to fix in one way or another, due to the fact that most jailbreak problems are tweak related, and most tweaks are Substrate-dependent.

With Substrate disabled it is normally possible to troubleshoot, fix filesystem problems, and remove dangerous tweaks, without having to restore the troublesome device. Of course, there can be more serious problems with your jailbreak which are not due to something which relies on Substrate, in which case this will not help you, but in my experience these are the minority of cases.
