You might be careful about what you say on social media now, but we were all dumb teenagers once—and you never know what someone might dig up in an attempt to get you fired. Here’s how to delete all of your old, embarrassing Facebook and Twitter posts.
Of course, you could always go whole hog and delete your social media accounts entirely, but most people don’t want to take such drastic measures. The instructions in this guide will help you delete posts older than a certain age, which can partially cover up your younger, stupider past.
However, this won’t necessarily erase those posts from history. People may still remember, or keep screenshots of, your bygone ideas, but these steps will at least prevent someone from looking for them in the future. And if you want to keep those old posts for personal viewing, you can download your Facebook and Twitter archives to your hard drive before deleting them.

On Facebook, you don’t necessarily have to wipe your old history in order to hide it. The social network has a built-in feature that allows you to limit all your past posts to “Friends Only,” preventing outsiders from seeing them.
If you’re satisfied with that, then you’re good to go. But if you have a lot of Facebook friends, especially those you aren’t particularly close with, I wouldn’t stop there. You never know who might have it out for you one day.
Unfortunately, Facebook makes it hard to delete lots of old posts at once—you can only erase them one by one. Thankfully, a Chrome extension called Social Book Post Manager will automate the process for you.
Social Book Post Manager
This extension will let you erase multiple Facebook posts in one fell swoop.
Social Book Post Manager will scroll through the page, highlighting in yellow the posts that match your parameters. This may take a few hours, since the software is actually imitating a human, scrolling gradually through the entire page. Once it has highlighted everything that you might want to delete, it will ask you to confirm. This gives you a chance to alter your parameters and re-run the search if there are any highlighted items you’re not ready to erase. Finally, the add-on will delete your posts (which, again, will take a long time).
This process isn’t perfect, so you may have to repeat your purge a few times to get all stray posts. But at the moment, it’s the best option we have.
Twitter: Delete old tweets with web appsTwitter, like Facebook, doesn’t give you an option to delete old posts in big batches. So again, you’ll have to turn to a third-party service. Yes, you’re trusting your data to yet another stranger, but if you’re dead set on removing those old tweets, the ends justify the means. And for this social media housecleaning, you have a couple different options.
TweetDelete
This web app lets you erase old tweets—as long as they fall within the range of your past 3,200 posts.
TweetDelete is a free history-scouring service with a very clear privacy policy. But it only lets you delete items that fall within the range of your previous 3,200 tweets. You could run it multiple times to erase your entire history, but this isn’t ideal if you want to keep the past couple years and delete everything before that.
To use TweetDelete, head to their home page, sign in with your Twitter account, and authorize the app to access your account. (You aren’t giving it your password or direct messages, just access to certain Twitter functions like that ever-important Delete button.)
After that, TweetDelete will continue to run in the background, automatically deleting tweets once they reach your specified age. If you don’t want TweetDelete to keep working on a schedule, then sign out, head to Twitter’s Application Settings, and revoke access for chúng tôi Your old tweets will still be gone, but your newer ones won’t continue to disappear on a schedule.

If you are looking for a way to delete all of your old Facebook posts without having to scroll through them one by one, deleting them all individually. This article will show you an easy way to automate the process, allowing you to set and forget the task until it is complete.
How to Delete Facebook Messages in Bulk.
Most people who have a Facebook account have probably thought about deleting old posts from the service, only to find that there isn’t an option to do so in bulk. This is because Facebook’s revenue stream is reliant on your data, so making it as hard to delete as possible is in their best interest.
Officially the only way to delete posts from Facebook is to do so one by one, which for a lot of people is a major deal breaker, in turn forcing them to give up on the idea. This concept didn’t bode well with me, so in 2023 I spent 30 minutes a day over several weeks manually deleting Facebook posts from my account which dated back to 2008. Thankfully! As I recently discovered, it doesn’t have to be that difficult anymore, there is now an extension that will handle the entire Facebook post deletion process automatically.

How Do You Delete Old Facebook Posts in Bulk? (Mass Delete Facebook Posts)Delete: Deletes all the posts from your account forever.
Hide/Unhide: Will hide or unhide posts on your Timeline.
Unlike: Will unlike any and all Timeline content you may have liked in the past.
Backup: Will download a backup of your entire Timeline. Personally, I wouldn’t use this option from the extension and instead use the official Facebook account backup/download tool.
The most important thing on this page after selecting your desired option and time frame is the speed. Make sure you choose the slowest speed possible. If you choose to run Social Book Post Manager at the fastest speed, it won’t remove all the content. This isn’t any fault of the extension and is entirely Facebook related, as Facebook filters posts it shows on your Timeline it won’t always show everything….
Note: Even when I was sure I had manually deleted everything, I would still occasionally find something Facebook didn’t show me. Even after an entire year of showing everything as deleted, Facebook found an old post it missed…
Once you have set all your parameters, you can start the process, which will need to run in the background for quite a long time. If you have years of posts to remove, I would suggest starting it before you go to bed and checking in the morning. When the process has finished, you may still have content left behind, if you do, simply run the scan again, and again until it is all gone.
Note: There will be some content that can’t be deleted (by the tool or manually), with this content, you will have to use the hide option. Personally, I would just go through and manually hide any of this content after the delete scan has completed, rather than running the hide scan.
How To Erase & Reset Android To Factory Settings
If you have an Android phone or tablet that is no longer in use and gathering dust, selling it or giving it to a new owner is often a good idea. Before you do that though, you’ll almost certainly want to erase all personal data on the phone by resetting the Android to the factory default settings. This is frequently encountered by those who use both platforms, but also for those who are moving from Android to an iPhone.
You’ll probably want to copy your pictures, contacts, and other important data from the Android before doing this if you haven’t done so already, particularly if you’re migrating over to an iPhone. Moving contacts to an iPhone from Android is quite simple with this method, though if you’re going to juggle both iOS and Android platforms you may want to use Google Sync instead. Much like resetting an iPhone to factory settings, once the Android is erased and reset, it will boot back into a setup process that is ready for a new owner or fresh configuration.
Clearing all data off an Android phone is quite simple and the process is generally the same regardless of which version of Android software the phone is running, though there an be slight variations in what menu options you’d need to select. This works the same on basically all Android smartphones and tablets, including the Nexus and Galaxy series.
Erasing & Resetting an Android to Factory Default SettingsThis will erase everything off the Android phone or tablet. In the newest versions of Android (like a Nexus 5), just do the following:
Open the Settings app and go to “Backup & Reset”
Scroll down and choose “Factory data reset” to start the data removal process, you may need to enter your passcode to continue if the Android is protected
Confirm that you want to erase everything off of the Android by choosing “Erase everything”
The Android will power off and reboot itself, when the screen turns back on you’ll see a little progress bar, and then the phone will restart itself yet again, booting to a freshly formatted Android phone without any personal data stored on the device.
Reset an Older Android Phone to Factory Default SettingsSome Android phones may have the data erase and reset option stored in a different menu item, but otherwise the process is the same. This should be the case with Android 4 for many HTC and Samsung phones that are a bit older:
Open the Settings app on the Android phone
Under Device settings, go to “Storage” (as opposed to Backup & Reset)
Choose “Factory data reset – Erases all data on phone”
Confirm that you want to erase everything on the Android phone
Whichever method you use to format the Android phone or tablet, the device will boot back up and Android will want to start the setup process immediately, so if you’re going to give the phone to someone else, or sell it, then you may want to avoid starting the setup procedure and just pass it off the new owner at this new setup screen.
Separately, if the Android phone uses external storage through an SD Card, you may want to erase that storage card or even remove it if you have personal data on there.

You can easily view your liked posts on Instagram in the mobile app on Android or iPhone.

How to See Liked Posts on InstagramInstagram is most popular for its mobile app, so it’s no surprise you can see your liked posts there in just a few taps. Open the Instagram app on Android or iPhone and follow these steps.
Visit your Instagram profile page using the

You’ll then see all the posts you’ve liked on Instagram from newest to oldest. This includes liked photos, videos, and reels. You can select a particular post in your list to view the original.
Sort or Filter Your Liked PostsIf you’re looking for a specific post, like one before or after a certain date or from a particular user, you can use the sort and filter options.
On the Likes screen, tap Sort & Filter on the top right. Then use the following options:
To sort, select Sort By to change from Newest to Oldest to Oldest to Newest. Tap Apply to use the sort option.
To filter by user, select Author. You can then use the Search at the top to find a specific user or select one or more Instagram users from the list. Pick Done and then Apply.
To filter by date, select either Start date or End date, depending on when you liked the post. Choose the date, pick Done, and then Apply.
If you want to revert the sort to the most recent posts first or remove a filter, tap Sort & Filter and select Reset in the top right corner. This returns to the sort order to newest to oldest and removes any filter you’ve applied.
Unlike Instagram PostsIf you come across a post or two you’ve liked that you want to unlike, this is also an option from the Likes screen.
To unlike one or more posts, pick

You’ll then see a brief message displaying the number of posts you’ve unliked.
Alternatively, you can select a liked item to see the original post and tap Like (heart icon) to deselect it and thus unlike the post.
There are many reasons you may want to see liked posts on Instagram. You might want to revisit a humorous post for a good laugh, see your friend’s recent photos again, or make sure that you liked a post from your partner. Whatever the case, you now know how to see liked posts on Instagram.

How To Prepare Your Facebook Business Page For Timeline
At the end of February, Facebook introduced the Timeline layout for personal profile pages. Now that the Timeline layout is set to roll out for Facebook business pages on March 30, it’s important to prepare your brand for the changes.
As with most Facebook changes, users are divided as to whether they like the new features. On the positive side, Timeline will allow page administrators to highlight and pin posts to emphasize certain content. Using the cover photo creatively may increase fan engagement. And private messaging opens the doors wider for customer communication.
Get StartedIf you already have a Facebook business page, when you sign in Facebook will likely display a prompt about how to get started with the Timeline layout, so follow those steps.
Customize Your Timeline PageCover Photo
First off, add a cover photo to your page, expressing in an 851-by-315-pixel image what your company is about. Facebook bars these images from containing price or purchase information, contact information, references to Facebook features such as Like and Share, and any calls to action (“Tell your friends” and such).
If you create a custom Facebook page, it will appear in one of these application boxes, so you will want to use an image and box order that display it prominently.
Custom Pages
You still can create custom Facebook pages via iframes coding or with third-party applications such as Pagemodo, but the procedure involves a few key changes.
Unfortunately, Timeline will not allow you to set a default landing tab, so all visitors will go immediately to your Wall. Previously, you could set a custom page as the default landing tab for all new visitors, a useful way to present information about your company or promotions. Instead, Facebook wants businesses to make a Wall post about their custom page or offer. Since a Wall post doesn’t stay at the top of the page for long, you’ll want to use a new feature called pinning.

Highlighting
Fans can now send a private message to your business via the Message button. You can turn on messaging by going to the Admin Panel, selecting Manage, Edit Page, and checking the Messages box on the Manage Permissions page. I wouldn’t recommend turning this feature off unless you are already managing customer feedback in another location and don’t have the resources to manage this function via Facebook as well. You can check messages via the Admin Panel.
Posts by Other Users
Posts by visitors no longer intermingle with your Wall posts; now, a block to the right contains all of the recent posts from other users. Since the posts are less prominent in this location, it’s important to remember to check them so that you don’t miss any important messages or feedback from potential customers.
Milestones
Milestones, another new Timeline feature, let you add past events related to the history of your organization. To start using it, select Milestones where you enter a new Wall post, and add the date your business was founded. Next, you can include important past events that deserve a place on the Timeline.
Manage Your PageTimeline’s new Admin Panel facilitates page management and includes five sections: Notifications, Messages, New Likes, Insights, and Page Tips. Some of these sections are familiar from earlier Facebook layouts, and are merely now available in one location. Messages, as described earlier, is the new area in which any private messages from visitors appear, and it will be available only if you’ve activated that feature. Page Tips is also new, but it’s less useful, as it rotates through a variety of topics rather than offering a method of answering a specific question.
Insights and Statistics
In all sections of Insights, you can select a date range to obtain data for a specific time period. The Insights Likes tab shows the demographics and location of people who have liked your page, as well as where the Likes originated–such as the from the actual page, a Like box, or a mobile device.
The Reach tab includes data about everyone who saw your content, even nonfans. It contains demographics, how they reached your page, page views, unique visitors, total tab views, and external sites that referred visitors to your page.
Manage
From the Manage menu at the top of the Admin Panel, you can access several options: Edit Page, Use Activity Log, and See Banned Users. This same menu also allows you to toggle between using Facebook under your company/brand name (posting as the page admin) and using it under your personal name (posting as yourself).
Build Audience
Build Audience, also at the top of the Admin Panel, is the section that will assist in growing your Facebook page’s audience. Here you have several options: Invite Email Contacts, Invite Friends, Share the Page, and Create a Facebook Ad.
The Help and Learning Video section is useful if you have specific Timeline questions or would like to take a tutorial.
With the arrival of Timeline, Facebook Ads become more important for building an audience since you can no longer set a default landing tab to gain new fans. Advertising on Facebook can be an affordable way to increase the visibility of your business to other Facebook users.
