We’ve seen extraordinary renditions of the Phantom before, but none are as festive and mysterious as the new Phantom Tempus Collection. Arriving in coincidence with NASA Perseverance’s Mars landing, the newest Phantom Tempus is limited exclusively to 20 units worldwide. Befitting of a Rolls-Royce, the Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament in Phantom Tempus can be custom-engraved with a unique date, location, or number that is “of particular significance to the client,” adds Rolls-Royce. Meanwhile, black exterior detailing completes the enigmatic vibe.

Most of the drama happens inside. Inspired by the pulsar in space, stepping inside Phantom Tempus is like entering a vehicle from another world. With its bedazzling array of lighting and shiny trimming, Phantom Tempus is one of the most exciting Rolls-Royce Collection cars we’ve seen in a while, and we’re saying this in high regard to Koa Phantom and Phantom Iridescent Opulence.

“As we all know, Time never stands still, waits for no one. With Phantom Tempus, we have created a space where those strictures no longer apply – as illustrated by the deliberate absence of a clock. For the first time, Phantom Tempus omits the clock that has decked the center console of every modern Rolls-Royce. Instead, the dashboard fascia has a Frozen Flow of Time gallery, creating the illusion of time standing still. This gallery is milled from a single piece of billet aluminum to form 100 individually contoured columns, with each column representing the 100-million-year rotational period of a pulsar star.

Each black-anodized column is hand-polished to reflect as much light as possible. The entire gallery produces a rippling effect as if each column is ‘flexing’ as you move your gaze across the piece. And if you open the glove box, you’ll find an engraved plaque with a quote from none other than Albert Einstein: The distinction between past, present, and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion.

Additionally, the newest Rolls-Royce Phantom Tempus has a bespoke Pulsar Headliner and hundreds of swirling, twisting, illuminated perforations on the insides of each door. Accompanying each vehicle is a Tempus Champagne Chest with hand-painted pulsar artwork. Inside, you get four hand-blown champagne flutes, a mother-of-pearl caviar spoon, and thermal flasks to chill your favorite bubblies.

Phantom Tempus has a standard 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine producing 563 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque under the hood. It’s not as fast as an intergalactic rocketship, but it has enough shove to reach zero to 60 mph in 5.3-seconds.

Everyone has an NFT or two that they regret holding. This is simply the nature of the NFT ecosystem. Sometimes floor prices plummet, and collectors are left with few options. Or perhaps a creator is found to be a swindler, leaving those who bought their IP in limbo. Or worse yet, maybe an unsolicited NFT was airdropped into a user’s wallet without consent.

Whatever the case, these unwanted NFTs can exist as a hindrance, a shameful reminder of the unsavory parts of the NFT space that enthusiasts often prefer to keep under wraps. But sending them to junk wallets or using marketplace features to hide them from the public is only a band-aid fix. Surely, there are better ways for collectors to rid themselves of unwanted NFTs.

Fortunately for degens, there are. And we aren’t talking about simply burning (destroying) them. No, instead, various platforms are now offering holders unique rewards for dumping their NFTs.

Getting rid of NFTs for tax purposes

So you want to get rid of some NFTs. Don’t worry; we won’t ask why, but just know you aren’t alone. There’s a multitude of reasons a collector might want to make an NFT vanish, with one of the most popular undoubtedly being for tax loss harvesting purposes.

In traditional tax loss harvesting, an investor would sell an underperforming asset at a loss, then use that loss to reduce their taxable capital gains, offsetting the gains they made on other investments. This can also be done with NFTs and is a considerably popular way to reduce taxes placed on digital collectibles.

Of course, there are all sorts of considerations to be made surrounding NFTs and taxes. This includes charitable giving, which you can read about in our full guide on the topic. But for those looking to simply offload and offset, there are a few services to choose from.

The NFT Loss Harvestooor

The NFT Loss Harvestooor is a free service created by the popular crypto tax software company CoinLedger. Essentially, the Harvestooor is a simple Ethereum smart contract that allows users to sell an NFT and receive a substantially small amount of ETH (0.00000001) in return. By doing so, traders can realize capital losses on NFTs and lower their taxable income.

What’s more, although the Harvestooor works well for collections that are still tradable, the makers of the service have been teasing a potential new service that would allow traders to rid themselves of even their “illiquid, worthless, rug-pulled” NFTs in the future.

Unsellable NFTs

Unsellable NFTs is another solid option for traders looking to harvest NFT losses. The platform acts quite similarly to the Loss Harvestooor but comes with the added functionality of being able to claim losses on hundreds of NFTs at a time (up to 1,000). Users can expect to receive around 0.000007 ETH for each NFT, only paying transaction fees (up to 0.08 ETH max) in the process.

Considering platforms like Blur have consumed a sizeable amount of the NFT market share in recent months — exemplifying the avid NFT trader’s affinity for zero-fee and high-volume trading — it makes sense that Unsellable has become a popular service for tax loss harvesting due to their high batch sizes.

Other ways to get rid of an NFT

Perhaps it isn’t saving money that you’re worried about, but rather saving face in getting rid of your terrible NFTs. Well, there are options that could be just as rewarding.

The Junkyard

The Junkyard is a service somewhat parallel to tax loss harvesting that offers users the opportunity to both dump their NFTs and win NFTs that have been dumped. By “dumping” an NFT into The Junkyard, a user will earn not ETH but Junkcoin, a platform native currency. That currency can then be used to “fish” for NFTs that have been dumped by others.

To date, a wide variety of blue-chip NFTs have been routed through The Junkyard, including pieces from Clone X, Doodles, Otherside, Cool Cats, and more.

Although the ecosystem could be used for tax loss harvesting, The Junkyard is more of a gamified trading experience powered by Axelar and running cross-chain on both Ethereum and Polygon. The platform also hosts a variety of in-development secondary and tertiary functionalities, like free-mint NFT collections, membership-based experiences, token staking, and more.

Liquidity Pool

Chances are, there are other collectors out there who are holding onto a piece from the same collection as you and would also like to relieve themself of their unsatisfactory NFT. So why not try a liquidity pool? With services like NFT20, a user can deposit any NFT into an available pool or create a pool themself (likely a necessity for pooling trash NFTs) and receive platform-native tokens in return.

Yes, this might be an unconventional way to “get rid” of an NFT, considering that liquidity pools are more often used to bolter trading and collector rewards. But it beats trying to hide a crap NFT for all eternity — even if it means losing out on profitability in return.

Band-aid fixes

If all else fails, even after you’ve considered or even made an attempt at the options listed above, you could always resort to the tried and true aforementioned band-aid fixes.

First, you could use the “hide” feature offered by OpenSea and other NFT marketplaces. These features are usually built directly into a marketplace’s interface and often only require a user to select which NFTs they want to hide, then submit and verify a transaction to hide them.

On the other hand, you could just opt to send an unsavory NFT to the universal Ethereum burn address. Doing so is as easy as it seems. Just select a token either in your wallet or marketplace profile, initiate a transfer, and send it to the 0x address associated with burning (0x00…dEaD).

Of course, this specific burning option only works with Ethereum-based NFTs. Tezos and Solana-based NFTs must be burned through other methods.

Take the shame out of discarding

So you’re holding onto a garbage NFT. So what? There are countless other collectors out there who are still in possession of Bloot or some other sort of unsavory derivatives. The fact of the matter is that you don’t have to HODL for “historical significance” or for any other excuse.

It’s okay to let go. Better yet, why not use your unwanted NFT to harvest a loss, try out a gamified experience, or even meet others in the same boat as you? Community is the most important part of the NFT space, after all, right?

Now we’ve made it to May, which is when we initially predicted the DLC would arrive, there is no official announcement of a date just yet. One Reddit post sources a Polish podcast for this speculation, which reveals the release date will be between June 8th and early July. June 8th being the date for this year’s Summer Game Fest.

Spotify Rolls Out Podcasts, Video, News, Running Feature, Activity

Spotify is determined to give Apple’s vertically integrated iTunes ecosystem a run for its money. At a media event in New York City, the Swedish streaming-music startup has moved into video, as previously suspected.

The service will now host video podcasts and other types of video content like news, much like Apple’s iTunes. According to TechCrunch, Spotify will also serve up playlists that are more personalized and relevant to what you’re doing at the time.

Apple-owned Beats Music also features activity-based playlists, mostly human curated, so this is another shot across Apple’s bow.

Some of the launch partners for video content on Spotify include NBC, Slate, Vice, BBC, NBC, ABC, Conde Nast brands (GQ, Vogue, Wired), Comedy Central MTV, E!, TeamCoco, Adult Swim, Elite Daily, TED, CBS Radio, PRX and many more.

Comedy Central, for instance, will be offering short clips from their TV show Broad City. The app will suggest video and audio shows for you to watch and learn what you love.

As for Spotify’s music-related news, it’s all about activity-based playlists that auto-play and let you easily swipe them should you dislike what you’re hearing.

Spotify analyzes your previous listening history and takes into account your age, location and the time of day to deliver playlists that best reflect your current activity.

“It pays closer attention to what you have historically listened to over the course of the day and puts together playlists that will work for that particular time,” TechCrunch explained.

Like iTunes, Spotify owns an obscene amount of data on users’ music tastes, having amassed a whopping 25 billion hours of listening data since its inception.

“Music is moving away from genres,” said Daniel Ek on stage. “People don’t search for Hip Hop or Country anymore, but rather they search around activities or a particular experience.”

Spotify is even tapping into your iPhone’s accelerometer, gyroscope, GPS and other sensors to optimize songs for your run in terms of BPMs.

Dubbed Running Originals, this music specifically designed for running changes the composition based on your run, with six different running experiences arriving via the Nike and RunKeeper apps later this summer.

Six original tracks within Spotify Running are available at launch. Moreover, they have brought out some exclusive content from Dance Move of the Day produced by Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls brand and specially curated radio shows presented by artists including Icona Pop, Jungle and Tyler the Creator.

Plex Partners With Lionsgate To Expand Its Collection Of Free Streaming Movies

Plex continues to expand its free collection of streaming films. The company announced today that it has partnered with Lionsgate to make a collection of free movies available to Plex users around the world.

Last month, Plex announced a similar deal with Warner Bros. to make a collection of feature films available to Plex users for free. Today’s partnership with Lionsgate further expands that initiative. All Plex users will have access to the content – not just Plex Pass subscribers.

Through the new deal, Plex users will be able to access a library of ad-supported movies from Lionsgate for free via the Plex application. Unlike the Warner Bros. partnership, which is limited to the United States, the Lionsgate content will be available to Plex users around the world.

“Lionsgate is one of the biggest names in the business and we know our millions of users will enjoy free access to their library of movies,” said Keith Valory, CEO of Plex.

“Plex caters to the most passionate and discerning media lovers all over the world, so it is important for us to be able to bring great content like this together in one beautiful app for all of our users across the globe.”

Access Case

Before you jump into ordering a case, you can be ensured it is an incredible investment. These are the second set of cases I received from Nodus; this time they are updated for the iPhone 7 and the new camera bump. The new cases are specific to the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, witch small changes to match the new form factor.

Personally, I love having a professional looking case, if I am going to use one. Frequently traveling for business, having my iPhone protected and professional in appearance are important factors to a good case. The portfolio style Access Case surrounds iPhone in fine grain, perfectly smelling, leather. A microfiber lining keeps the device cradled in a safe environment, while a micro-suction strip holds iPhone in place.

The micro-suction strip deserves its own attention. Many cases use a 3M non-permanent adhesive, but its effectivity depletes over several uses. Micro-suction is non adhesive, which does not wear out with time. It is a pad of mini suction cups that grips the device and rigidly holds it into place. I feel perfectly confident whipping it around with my iPhone securely in place.

The leather on both Access and Shell cases, along with the wallet, is supple, soft, and well-tailored. Having used the Access across a few weeks, it already has a nice patina coloration and is breaking in very nicely.

Shell Case

Shell Case is a slip-in style case with protection on all six sides. A microfiber interior ensures your device is not damaged by the case. Additionally, a small magnet is embedded into the case back, which pairs with an included adhesive magnet for your car, kitchen, or other area where you need to grab the device at a moment’s notice.

The case is thick enough to completely cover the iPhone 7 camera bump and a cutout allows access to the mute switch, but it is a little hard to actuate through the opening. Power and volume rockers are easy to toggle, even though they are covered by the leather.

I found myself switching to the Shell Case, when I was on the go and just needed a little bit of stylish protection. Many compliments were passed my direction while using it!

Compact 4 Card

Having been on the prowl for a compact slim wallet for a while, I was excited to receive it. First, I love that the leather matches the case, giving a very ‘complete’ feeling to carrying both. Second, the wallet, like the cases, is very soft and quickly breaks-in. Close stitches around the edges look great and also hold everything tightly together. Thin and lightweight, it is exactly what I was hoping to find: a professional, slim line wallet that only holds exactly what I need as an every-day-carry.
